For the tenth consecutive year, PAVE Global has partnered with the design collaborative Bergmeyer to support emerging talent in the design industry. Today, PAVE Global and Bergmeyer are pleased to announce that Thi Vuong, a senior in the Interior Design program at California State University, Long Beach, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Bergmeyer Scholarship + Experience.
The milestone 10th annual award includes a $2,500 scholarship and an all-expenses-paid immersive mentorship experience at Bergmeyer's Boston headquarters, where Vuong will have the opportunity to work directly with industry leaders.
"In collaboration with PAVE, Bergmeyer would like to congratulate Thi Vuong from California State University, Long Beach as the recipient of the 2025 Bergmeyer Scholarship and Mentorship Experience. We sincerely appreciate all the talented design students from colleges and universities across the United States and Canada who applied for the tenth annual Bergmeyer Scholarship with PAVE. Bergmeyer is thrilled to award Thi for outstanding design thinking, for consistently creating immersive, engaging, and meaningful journeys that leave a lasting impression and provide memorable experiences for guests and customers," said Catherine Keywan, Senior Designer | Associate, Bergmeyer.
In her winning essay responding to the prompt on retail as a catalyst for bringing people together, Vuong demonstrated a thoughtful understanding of the evolving role of physical retail environments. She wrote, "Physical retail spaces also strengthen communities. A thoughtfully designed store can become a hub for creativity and local pride, hosting events and showcasing artisans, making neighborhoods more vibrant and connected. As I reflect on my personal retail experience, the built environment accommodates for memories and creates a sense of belonging that goes beyond commercial transactions."
Vuong's portfolio showcased exceptional design skills with projects focused on creating meaningful retail, restaurant, and hospitality environments that foster community connection.
The PAVE Scholarship Program, now in its fifteenth year, provides financial assistance to students in educational programs preparing them for careers related to the design and creation of consumer environments. Since its inception, PAVE has helped reduce barriers for students to continue their studies, providing over $251,600 in financial aid, grants, and scholarships in the last five years.
