Focus on academic teaming contributes to conference registration hitting full capacity.
West Palm Beach, FL—May 21, 2019—Learning Sciences International announced today that its annual Building Expertise conference for educators has sold out with more than 1,600 registrations. This year’s conference, taking place in Lake Buena Vista, Florida June 12-14, will focus on “The Power of Team,” with dozens of in-demand sessions to strengthen classroom and leadership practices.
“We’re excited about the focus on academic teaming in this year’s conference,” said LSI CEO Michael D. Toth. “We’re looking forward to sharing exciting research findings and advising schools that are planning to make academic teaming a priority in the upcoming school year.”
Toth is co-author, with educational neuroscience consultant Dr. David A. Sousa, of The Power of Student Teams, a book that reveals the significant learning gains of schools that implemented academic teaming in recent years and explains the science behind why it has been effective in closing achievement gaps, expanding equity, and boosting social and emotional learning for all students.
Building Expertise attendees will take in keynotes by Dr. Robert J. Marzano, Michael D. Toth, and David A. Sousa, as well as Futurist Erica Orange, COO of “Future Hunters,” and Blackhawk Down Veteran and Country Music Artist Keni Thomas. They will also attend more than 65 specialized sessions for teachers and leaders in a wide array of subject areas and grade levels. Globally recognized authors and researchers will be on the premises to sign books and share insight. Attendees will participate in networking opportunities, such as Round Table Showcase Rooms for teachers, instructional coaches/teacher leaders, school leaders, and district leaders.
Although registration is at full capacity, LSI is maintaining a waiting list for those who missed out on reserving a spot. The company’s other summer convening, the Dylan Wiliam Center Formative Assessment Annual Conference, still has a limited number of tickets available. Information on that event can be accessed at DylanWiliamCenter.com/Conference.
